The Backlist Revitalizer is a Claude plugin that audits your entire published catalog and generates a revenue-prioritized action plan to increase sales from books you’ve already written. No generic tips — every recommendation names the specific book, the specific fix, and the estimated revenue impact.

The Backlist Problem

Most indie authors publish a book, promote it for a few weeks, then move on to writing the next one. Meanwhile, the backlist sits there with suboptimal keywords, wrong categories, weak blurbs, mispriced series entries, and broken read-through funnels — quietly losing hundreds of dollars a month in revenue that’s already within reach. You don’t need more books. You need the books you have to work harder.

The Revenue Impact System

This plugin embeds a 5-rule guardrail that prevents the #1 failure of AI-generated marketing advice: vague, generic recommendations that sound helpful but aren’t actionable. Every single recommendation must pass all five rules:

  1. Specificity Over Generality: Every recommendation names the specific book, the exact action to take, and the expected outcome in concrete terms.   3. Effort/Impact Matrix: Every recommendation scored on a 5-point Impact scale and 5-point Effort scale. Revenue Impact Score = (Impact × Probability) / Effort. Quick wins first, then strategic investments. Skip anything with high effort and low impact.
  4. Data-Driven Diagnosis: Based on actual sales data, Amazon metrics, historical trends, and genre benchmarks — not assumptions or best practices from 2019.
  5. Series Leverage: For authors with series, every recommendation considers the full funnel. How does fixing Book 1’s blurb affect Book 3 sales? Where’s the biggest read-through drop-off? What’s the box set opportunity?

This Is Not Generic Advice

The Revenue Impact System actively prevents AI from giving you a “Top 10 Tips to Boost Your KDP Sales” listicle. Every recommendation is specific to your books, prioritized by your revenue data, paired with time and effort estimates, tied to your actual sales history, and actionable in concrete, step-by-step terms. If it doesn’t name a book and a dollar amount, it doesn’t make the report.
