Premise

Iris Thorne-Valdez, a brilliant but disgraced forensic audio specialist, accepts a lucrative restoration job at Blackwood Manor—a decaying Gilded Age estate on a remote island where sound travels in impossible ways. Hired to digitize decades of recordings and “remove the noise,” Iris begins to hear a seven-note whistle the equipment can’t capture and finds a caretaker’s “maintenance log” that reads like a confession. As storms cut off the ferry and the manor’s acoustic design is turned against her, Iris must decipher what’s on the tapes, what’s in the walls, and who is using both to gaslight her—before she becomes the next “accident” the island forgets.
