Description

5 Complete Novellas in Any Genre. Concept to Finished Manuscript. One Plugin.

The Novella Factory is a Claude Cowork plugin that produces 5 complete, publication-ready novellas (~20,000 words each) in any genre you choose. Romance, cozy mystery, thriller, horror, fantasy, sci-fi, dark romance, paranormal, LitRPG, historical, contemporary, romantic suspense, women’s fiction — you name the genre, and the entire pipeline adapts. Standalone batch or interconnected series. Optional voice matching from your own writing sample. Full editorial pipeline on every manuscript.

Other AI writing tools are genre-locked. A romance writer writes romance. A cozy mystery writer writes cozies. If you want to test a new genre, you need a new tool — and hope someone built one. And even genre-specific tools produce manuscripts that sound like AI wrote them, not like you did.

The Novella Factory solves both problems. Its signature system — the Genre Chameleon System — adapts prose style, pacing, structural requirements, editorial checks, and AI failure patterns to whatever genre you specify. 14 genres have deep profiles built in, and the system handles any genre you throw at it. Upload a writing sample, and the optional Style Profile analyzes your voice across 6 dimensions to make every manuscript sound like you wrote it.

How It Works

An interactive setup phase asks 8–11 questions — genre, subgenre, batch type, heat level/tone, POV, tense, word count, author name, themes, series concept, and writing sample. Then a production pipeline builds all 5 novellas:

  1. Genre Configuration — The Genre Chameleon System loads your genre’s prose style, pacing conventions, structural requirements, quality checks, and known AI failure patterns. If you uploaded a writing sample, the Style Profile is built from 6-dimension voice analysis.
  2. Concept & Outline — 5 unique story concepts generated (standalone mode uses a Variety Matrix to ensure different protagonists, settings, tones, and conflict types; series mode builds a shared world with escalating stakes). Full chapter outlines for each novella.
  3. Drafting — Chapter-by-chapter manuscript writing. Every chapter written to genre conventions AND your Style Profile (if provided). Genre-specific quality checks enforced per chapter.
  4. AI Artifact Scrub — Every manuscript scanned and rewritten for robotic transitions, clinical emotion descriptions, therapy-speak dialogue, purple prose, AI vocabulary tics, and genre-specific AI failure patterns.
  5. Developmental Edit — Full structural review of each completed manuscript. Pacing, character arcs, plot logic, genre convention compliance, emotional resonance.
  6. Beta Read & Revision — Final quality pass with targeted fixes based on beta reader feedback simulation.
  7. Series Continuity Audit (series mode) — Cross-book audit tracking characters, timelines, locations, plot threads, and relationship development across all 5 novellas. Every contradiction caught and fixed.
  8. KDP Metadata & Packaging — Amazon KDP metadata document for each novella: title suggestions, blurb, keywords, BISAC categories, and cover art direction. Manuscripts formatted as .docx files.

The Genre Chameleon System

This is what makes Novella Factory genre-agnostic without being genre-ignorant. For each genre, the system adapts:

  • Prose Style — Romance gets emotionally resonant, lyrical prose. Thrillers get lean, propulsive sentences. Cozy mystery gets warm, community-rich narration. Horror gets atmospheric dread. Each genre has its own voice.
  • Pacing Conventions — Romance builds intimacy slowly. Thrillers escalate relentlessly. Cozy mysteries alternate investigation and community scenes. Fantasy balances worldbuilding with plot momentum.
  • Structural Requirements — Romance requires HEA/HFN. Mystery requires fair clue planting. Horror requires escalating dread. Thriller requires ticking-clock urgency. These are non-negotiable per genre.
  • Quality Checks — Genre-specific editorial standards applied during drafting, not just at the end.
  • AI Failure Patterns — Each genre has specific ways AI tends to fail. Romance: emotional tells instead of shows. Thriller: tension deflation through over-explanation. Mystery: unfair clue hiding. Horror: naming the fear too early. The system knows what to watch for in YOUR genre.

14 genres with deep profiles: Romance (all subgenres) • Cozy Mystery • Thriller/Suspense • Horror • Fantasy • Sci-Fi • Dark Romance • Paranormal • LitRPG • Historical • Contemporary • Romantic Suspense • Women’s Fiction • Paranormal Suspense. Plus any other genre you specify.

Voice Matching — Your Books Sound Like You

Upload a writing sample (.docx, .epub, or .txt) and the skill analyzes your prose across 6 dimensions:

  1. Sentence Architecture — Average length, variety, complexity, fragment usage, paragraph patterns
  2. Vocabulary Profile — Register, range, jargon/slang, profanity level, adjective/adverb density
  3. Narrative Stance — Psychic distance, introspection ratio, description density, sensory preferences, emotion handling
  4. Dialogue Characteristics — Tag style, subtext level, humor style, formality, dialogue-to-narration ratio
  5. Pacing Signature — Chapter length consistency, scene transition style, action-to-reflection ratio, chapter ending patterns
  6. Metaphor & Imagery — Density, source domains, simile vs. metaphor preference, recurring images, description style

The analysis produces a Style Profile — a specific, actionable description of your writing voice that guides every chapter of every manuscript. Not “writes well with good pacing.” Something like: “Short-to-medium sentences with frequent fragments for comedic timing. Conversational vocabulary. Dialogue-heavy (60%). Tags almost exclusively ‘said’ or action beats. Deadpan humor. Metaphors rare but always from food or domestic life.”

Priority rule: Style Profile > Genre Chameleon System for prose voice. A thriller can be written in any prose style. But a manuscript that doesn’t sound like the author has failed the primary mission.

Two Batch Modes

Standalone Batch: 5 independent novellas in your chosen genre. The Variety Matrix ensures each novella is distinct — different protagonist demographics, settings, time periods, tones (within genre range), opening styles, and conflict types. No two novellas feel like variations of the same book.

Interconnected Series: 5 novellas sharing a world, recurring characters, and escalating stakes. Series mode adds a full continuity audit — character bible, relationship tracker, location registry, timeline reconstruction, and plot thread map across all 5 books. Every contradiction caught and fixed before delivery.

What You Get

  • 5 Complete Manuscripts (.docx) — ~20,000 words each, fully edited through the 3-stage editorial pipeline (AI artifact scrub, developmental edit, beta read & revision)
  • 5 Amazon KDP Metadata Documents (.docx) — Title suggestions, subtitle, series name (if applicable), blurb, 7 keywords, BISAC categories, and cover art direction for each novella
  • Continuity Audit Report (series mode) — Character bible, timeline, location registry, relationship tracker, and plot thread map across all 5 books

What’s Different About This vs. Genre-Specific Writer Plugins

Genre-specific writer plugins (Romance Writer, Cozy Mystery Writer, Dark Romance Writer, etc.) are optimized for one genre. They know that genre deeply and produce excellent results within it.

Novella Factory is for authors who:

  • Write across genres — One tool instead of buying a separate plugin per genre
  • Want to test new genres — Try thriller, horror, sci-fi, or any genre without needing a genre-specific plugin
  • Want voice matching — Upload your writing sample and get manuscripts that sound like you, regardless of genre
  • Need batch production — 5 novellas per run, standalone or series, in any genre

If you only write romance, the Romance Writer is probably the better fit. If you write across genres, want voice matching, or want to explore new markets — Novella Factory is the tool.
